My daughter in-law clued me in to the series now in its 5th season on TNT and she was right-on target.At first you'd think its a female answer to all the testosterone cop shows on TV and in some ways you'd be right,buts its far more.First,its a female Boston homicide detective played by Angie Harmon as Detective Jane Rizzoli, who is the friend of a Doctor from the coroners office, Sasha Alexander as Dr. Maura Isles,and they are indeed buddies from very different back grounds,but the cast is rounded out by some fine character actors and a continuing story that is both feminine yet also interesting for us guys as well without being a sexy ga,ga show.The series is based on a series of "Rizzoli and Isles" books by Tess Gerritson." and although I have not read any,I really enjoy this "different"cop/buddy show and strongly recommend it.
