Ted - 3 1/2 stars out of 5 stars

Seth MacFarlane made a better film than I thought. You see I think he sometimes is a five year old with the infantile fart and drug humor, but other times he can be inspired. Thus the 1 and 1/2 stars off for this 2012 film that runs 106 minutes. The story is different, yes a live teddy bear whose voice IS Seths, and at times hard to accept as are its 2 stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis but other times the humor that does work, does because of them.Take a scene with a nice cameo by Norah Jones, well,Marks character does a really bad ballad song at a concert to win back Mila and it works because his character is a bit of a no talent loser man child,BUT we all know that Mark Wahlberg was"Marky Mark"back in the day,so that makes it that much funnier. Then there's a cameo by Sam J. Jones who had played "Flash Gordon"in maybe one of the worse movies ever made, but in Seths hands his appearance and that movies send up was far better and funnier than it ever had a right to be.Scenes like that make it worth the potty mouth and fart jokes in the rest of the film. So as a example of the poor comedies being made today, this may be the best you'll see for awhile.Trailer URL follows the picture and a IMDB summary is below.

John makes a Christmas miracle happen by bringing his one and only friend to life, his teddy bear. The two grow up together and John must then choose to stay with his girlfriend or keep his friendship with his crude and extremely inappropriate teddy bear, Ted. Written by Anonymous
